About us

The Center for Collaborative Care was inspired through the generosity and partnership of a private developer, services provider and philanthropist, Argus Lee. Mr. Lee has spent the last 40+ years in real estate development and the provision of supportive health and wellness services for the community in Los Angeles. Mr. Lee and Homeless Health Care Los Angeles (HHCLA) began partnering together in 2022 and, in 2024, Mr. Lee approached HHCLA and another reputable non-profit partner, CRI-Help, to develop and create the Center for Collaborative Care.

HHCLA

Homeless Health Care Los Angeles (HHCLA) is a non-profit community-based organization located in Southern California that will oversee the Center for Collaborative Care’s outpatient substance use treatment program, its mental health services, and the community training, education and workforce development programs. Founded in 1986, HHCLA is dedicated to meeting people where they are at and provides a continuum of services to support community wellness and recovery including behavioral health services, substance use treatment, supportive housing, case management services, and harm reduction programming. Since the 1990s, HHCLA has operated an outpatient substance use treatment program, called the Integrated Treatment Program, or ITP, that uniquely integrates behavioral health and other supportive services including psychiatry, occupational therapy, acupuncture and peer-driven support groups. HHCLA has also operated a Training, Education and Workforce Development Program for over 30 years, providing specialized training services for service providers and agencies all throughout Los Angeles. HHCLA’s primary mission is to provide innovative strategies for reducing the harms associated with homelessness, substance use, and mental and physical health conditions, while maintaining a broader commitment to ending homelessness through advocacy efforts that target the historical and structural causes implicated in the ongoing production of homelessness.
